Mother’s Day Shopping (made easy) at Walmart

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart and Walmart Foundation for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Well, it will soon be Mother’s Day, so I scooped the boys up and we made our yearly mom run to Walmart–so we could find a gift for their mom and mine as well.

Being the very smart-and-savvy dad that I am, I was thinking: “Let’s go to Walmart on a Saturday. I’m sure it won’t be busy”….

Boy was I wrong–Walmart was super busy (Mother’s Day coming up and all…). What I feared would be a terrible decision soon turned-to-perfection… I found the perfect assortment of gifts; the staff was so friendly and helpful; and the boys learned a lot that day, as well!

Walmart just launched a great new campaign: Walmart’s Empowering Women Together. And, I was on the look-out for the products, in departments that are all-too familiar:

  • Clothing & accessories;
  • Home & decor;
  • Photo cards & books;
  • Toys & storage;
  • Food & food gifts;
  • Jewelry

The inspiring stories of the women involved in the campaign also offer something for the boys to learn from…

  • We want them to follow their passions, and support those causes that they believe in;
  • We also want them to understand that they really can make a difference in the lives of other…
  • Supporting these small women-owned businesses is a small, but essential way they can help to improve the lives of some truly amazing women (and their families)/

In our searches up-and-down the aisles, we were able to find a lot of cool ideas that we thought the moms would love.

Of course, I do have to admit… Before we hit the aisles for our mission of hunting down mom-presents, we took a lengthy pit stop in the toy and video game sections of the store. (Hey, we had to show our support in those areas as well!)

Onward to the Mission

After hitting up our favorite (guy) shopping hot spots, we headed over to the Mother’s Day gift aisles–we made short work of it.

We were men on a mission, (a trio-band of brothers, hunting for those gifts for our moms).  We even headed over to the card section–to pick out a card or two for said-moms. Again, it was super quick-and-easy. They had a great selection, and the ease with which we located everything we needed made us feel a bit like expert-shopping-commandos.

All joking aside–the boys’ mom works very hard for us everyday. More days than I wish were true, she is greatly under-appreciated.  She’s always willing to go above-and-beyond–without being asked. When the boys are sick, she goes days-and-days–with 2-3 hours of sleep each night–to make sure they are taken care of.

I can’t say she’s had a warm meal… There are the constant: “Can I have more?! Can I have something to drink ?! Can I go to the bathroom?! ” Boys will be boys.

She’s a great-and-caring mom to the boys, and I wish she got more then one day a year. Maybe, we should celebrate it 364 days of the year. That may be enough, but who are we kidding…. She’d be doing things on those days anyway.

I believe the boys have the best mom around, as I’m sure they believe as well. So sorry to the rest of you, but that title is taken!

If you haven’t accomplished your shopping for those hard-working moms in your life, then head over to Walmart. You won’t be disappointed!
